2026 OKR
Build simply loveable apps
Hero Statement(s)
These applications don’t need to revolutionise the world but they should aim to provide real value to those who use them.
Intelligently working within the bounds of my limitations should provide a unique edge in my creativity and process.
OKR
Objective: Launch and validate 6 small, loveable products with real user traction in 2026.
Key Result:
- Ship 6 products with:
- live landing page,
- onboarding,
- 1 key feature,
- pricing or clear CTA,
- analytics installed
- live landing page,
- For at least 3 of 6 apps, achieve one traction threshold within 30 days of launch:
- 10 paying users, or
- 100 signups.
- Marketing consistency:
- Publish 2 distribution assets per launch. (e.g., a short demo video + a forum post + a blog or X/Linkedin thread)
- Maintain at least 7-10 focused hours/week, tracked weekly, with a 2-week rolling average.
Application Constraints
Limitations force Creative and Intelligent work
- Single-core-feature: each app does one job end-to-end.
- 2-Page limit: no more than two primary UI flows.
- One-week MVP: the MVP must be buildable in 5-10 hours.
Process / Architecture
To achieve the desired results in the time constrains imposed I’ll have to rely heavily on repeatable processes and infrastructure I’ve already developed.
- Starter Repo
- NextJS core, Supabase (Auth + DB), Tailwind CSS, Plausible
- Auth + Payments Templates
- Supabase Auth, Stripe Payments
- Landing Page Template
- Similar to Start Repo but only for the Frontend application
- Analytics
- Plausible Analytics, Key CTA analytics on Landing Page
- Deployment Pipeline
- Azure Cloud, Azure Container Apps (Backend), Cloudflare Workers (Frontend)
Kill Criteria
- Kill or pause any product that fails to show a traction signal after 45 days, document 3 learnings
Ultimately
At it’s core this will be an exercise of “learn fast, ship often”. My expectations from the outset for the most optimistic outcome will be 2 real applications. Real meaning providing value to > 10 people. Realistically these will be more learning opportunities.
